How does different saddle trees differ?
The DP Saddlery LP has four types of saddle Trees—Wooden Trees, Pro Flex Trees, Flex Fit Trees, and Deu-Flex Trees. Today, we are going to talk about the differences. And you will know which one would fit you and your horse the best.
1. Wooden Trees
The wooden trees come in various shapes and forms and can be ordered rawhide covered or covered with fiberglass. The picture example above is one of the classic models that DP Saddlery usually chooses. One thing to keep in mind: If you want to customize a horse saddle, the wooden trees can be used for many saddles. Whether you're looking into a reining saddle, cutting, barrel racing, or ranch roping, we have the tree to fit your horse.
2. Pro Flex Fit Trees
The Pro Flex Fit Tree is type of flexible tree without the adjustable gullet system. Even though it is not adjustable, the foundation is made of the same material as the Flex-Fit trees that we are going to talk about the next. This tree also comes with a rigid fork in 4 sizes, and the horn is made of solid wood. This tree is not recommended for roping saddle if you are thinking to customize a horse saddle.
3. Flex Fit Trees
The Flex Fit tree is a semi-flexible, high quality carbon fiber tree, that provides maximum stability along the spine, yet enough flexibility on the bars to allow your horse to bend. Along with the most innovative system available, our Allen wrench system, which allows you to change the width of the fork as wide or narrow as needed. Not recommended for roping.
4. Deu-Flex Trees
The Deu-Flex tree has a rigid wooden fork and cantle, yet the bars and seat are of leather only, allowing for great flexibility, without losing stability and the true Western Feel. The Leather tree has a great advantage, lasts a very long time and conforms nicely to your horses back, for maximum performance and comfort. The Deu-Flex tree is not considered to be treeless. It is in fact a full tree made entirely of leather. Many layers of high-quality vegetable tanned saddle skirting leather are layered on top one another, glued and stitched, to shape a tree.
Each tree has its unique features. What is your favorite one? If you are thinking to customize a horse saddle, please free feel to email us at info@saddlecolony.com or click on the chat button at the right corner. We are very happy to address your concerns.
